The Zombie Survival Smut Meme
Immunity is Sexually Transmitted.

My name isn't important. All that you need to know is that if you're reading this, I'm dead.

It's been six months since the initial outbreak. The sickness started out as just that, a mild epidemic of what seemed to be the flu. People were told to just go on with their lives and take care of themselves. But then, soon after, things went terribly wrong.

People who had previously only had the sniffles were violently coughing, blood and sometimes even teeth or other unspeakable things coming up. Strange rashes appeared on their bodies, and hair began falling out, followed by eyes glazing over with a milky white blindness. These infected didn't die, however; no, it was even worse. They got stronger with time, stronger, less human, and hungry. It was month two when the first incident of cannibalism occurred, the victim a nurse in a hospital that was treating a victim. After that, it hardly took long. Cases were occurring all throughout the world, and not just with humans. Animals, too, were susceptible, as were metahumans, aliens, vampires, gods, and any other beings that may or may not have made their existence known. The first infected superhero made quite a show, taking out at least a thousand people in a metropolitan area on the eastern seaboard. Those who weren't completely devoured became new carriers of the disease. This variety in the infected meant there was no sure fire way to put them down.

The world governments put on a strong front, but by the end of month four, nearly the entire world had fallen into absolute chaos and anarchy. People live off the land in ultimate survivalist style, as electricity, cell phone towers, and internet are worthless now. Major cities are avoided- they're hotbeds for. The prospect of escaping where you're stuck, or even the planet, is a no go. Even those power beings who could travel from planet to plant or dimensions find themselves grounded; the time stream, it seems, has taken matters into its own hands and doesn't want to risk contaminating other places and worlds.

It's now believed that at least 95% of the population is dead or infected. 4% are those who've managed to survive, and the remaining 1%? They're immune. Most people these days travel in pairs, for multiple reasons. It's faster to move around, there's always someone to watch your back...and the most important thing: there's a way to keep yourself safe from the infected when there's two of you. Unfortunately, it's taken this long to figure out, but now it's known throughout the survivors that an immunity can be gained by daily sexual intercourse with an immune person. Like the infection can be spread through bites and close contact, the immunity can be spread through sex. Of course, there's no possible way to know someone is immune for sure, unless you actually see them get bit and not turn, so most of these traveling "couples" are gambling and hoping that one of them is immune. But it's better to have someone than no one at all, and there's nothing to lose with playing the odds here.

So, if you find this journal, stay by the side of who you have, or find someone quickly. Stock up on weapons, anything you can find, and take care of business in any way you have to. I hope you fare better than we did.

[OOC: To celebrate the beginning of October, here's something spooky! I don't think anything needs explaining besides ZOMBIES. SEX. PEOPLE ARE TRAVELING IN PAIRS. Feel free to do anything- canon, AUs, whatever.

Blank comments are fine, but you may get more bites with something, so feel free to use the form below. Otherwise, go wild.

Dream of paradise

"To see a world in a grain of sand
and heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity in an hour."

-William Blake

And then, the world ended.

Perhaps it was with a whimper or with a bang, but everything you knew is gone now. Yet life continues, as it always has. The world has been reborn. And you, somehow, you have survived all the destruction and have become a resident of the new clean slate of a world. How fortunate. Yet, this fortuity comes with a price: you are now one of the two remaining sapient creatures in this world. Yes, there are only two.

The pair of you do have a whole world to yourselves, or at least the expanse of a lush and tropical garden, very much like the Biblical Garden of Eden. There are trees and flowers and bushes as far as the eye can see, topping the rolling hills all the way to an azure shore. All of this seems to be untouched by man. And why wouldn't it be? The two of you are the first to tread on this land. You are the gods of this new world.

...or are there other gods, perhaps ones who are keeping this world safe for you and making sure the two new beings come together and fulfill their purpose as the new Adam and Eve of the world. The old, crumbling stone temple near the beach hints something like this. Why would there be a temple if there was nothing to worship?

But you have other things to concern yourself with.

Despite how you may have been in your old world, now you feel the need to stay with your single companion, whether it be an inexplicable magnetic draw or a need to survive. Certainly, it's easier with two people out here. You awaken without even the clothes on your back, and there is no technology, and powers are weakened. Thus, life must be lived as it was in the primitive days. Hunting, gathering, making clothes, and building shelter all must be done by hand, so it's better to have someone to help you. Perhaps one of you can hunt while the other mends clothing. Together, there is a better chance of survival, and this is needed. There are, after all, other creatures that lurk in the darkness. Like the ancient peoples, you'll find safety in numbers around the campfire.

The drive of survival is not the only force at work, though. The deity that has created this world for you has a goal in mind: they want to create a beautiful new place, inhabited by a society that is peaceful and loving and simple, like in the olden days. The two of you are the beginning of this new society and new world. To help things along, the air, the fruit, the water has all been modified for certain...beneficial properties. Certain fruits will make you have an attraction and affection, something almost like love or devotion, for your companion. Others will increase fertility. Bathing in or drinking water from any of the many streams can cause your body to change in many ways, from enlarged sexual organs, wider hips for birthing, to increased sexual appetite and stamina. But all of these things, food, water, and air will cause the most important change. You will forget. You will forget about your old world, your old life, your old lovers, your old friends. Such memories can only bring you sadness, and the new world needs none of that. Soon, the only thing on your mind will be how you dote on your companion, your workmate, your lover and the progeny the two of you will create.

Prompt Ideas

( None of these are mandatory; rather, they are ideas that can fit in the setting. Feel free to play as if your character(s) have been here for as little or as long as you like, and you're welcome to play in media res with them already gone "native." )

1. The Arrival You've just woken up and found yourself alone in this place with only one other person.
2. Exploration You learn the layout of the land or admire the beauty before you.

SUMMER

2. Food for the Winter Whether it be hunting or gathering, you must get food for the cold months ahead. Be sure not to get distracted.

FALL
1. The Fruit of Knowledge Suddenly, you're awakened to just how beautiful and wonderful your companion is. How could you not have seen it before?
2. Mating Season The urges for sex are strong these days, almost...primal

WINTER
1. A Shelter from the Cold If you haven't already built one, you must build a shelter to protect you from the wind and snow. Or, if you have, it's a good time to stay indoors with you partner.
2. The Fruits of Our Labor Enjoy the food and resources you've put away for the winter. Of course, the fruit might have gotten a little stronger with age.

ways to show affection

When it comes to the way affection is shown, everyone has a different way they go about it. That means that there's a pretty good chance, with regards to couples, you could end up with two people who have two varying approaches towards how they prove they care...sometimes radically varying, which can lead to more than a little confusion or hurt feelings if there's not proper communication. But when both people are on the same page, they can tell each other how they feel with few words.

☄ Comment with your character, info, prefs, and how your character will likely show affection.

Always by your side

The "My Cause" Meme
a shipping meme
Find a cause and serve it. Some people are good at that, being natural-born followers. Others are more rebellious and don't subordinate well, yet can follow their heart if they believe their actions are right. Most find themselves dedicated to something at some time during their lives. But what if that cause isn't a something, but a someone? A person.

The particulars aren't that important. You're a dedicated servant. A best friend. A soldier. brainwashed to know no better. A bodyguard charged to protect. Somebody who ended up here along the way and just felt like you need to take care of this person because they'll probably trip on their own shoelaces. Maybe they're too delicate for this world and you want to keep them innocent. Whether the person you're tangled up with has a mission themselves or are merely living their life, somebody has to look out for them.

This resolve may be easier to keep before you realize than your feelings towards them are beyond platonically protective; if you're the sort to put all thoughts into the mission, this new distraction may be confusion. You may need to protect them from something new...yourself.

  • Comment with your character, preferences, etc.
  • Mention if you want to play the one with the "cause" or the "cause" itself.
  • Reply to others.
  • Play out any aspect of the relationship: beginning, realizations, attempt to "protect," what have you.

More faces arrived the next day, and it was that day with the arrival of one last human that they would have their grand council. The Lord of Imladris, Elrond he was called, looked even more stern this day than he had the last and Durotan was reminded of his grandmother. Nothing ever happened in the valley of the clan that his grandmother didn't find some way to be disapproving of, or find dire warning in.

The council would convene in one of the many courtyards of the elven city. Much like Thranduil's hold, everything here was peaceful, alive, ancient, and uncommonly beautiful. That is, the scene fit the people themselves, at least to Durotan's eyes. The hobbits, humans, wood elves and dwarves all sat around looking nearly as severe as Elrond. As for himself, he stood behind the wood elves as his friends and allies even if they looked so vastly different. Durotan recognized Strider from his brief visit to Mirkwood. They shared a nod although no words, as those words of greeting were reserved for Strider and Legolas more privately. It didn't surprise him in the least that his good friend was just as likable to the other races as he was to himself.

"Here, my friends is the hobbit, Frodo son of Drogo. Few have ever come hither through greater peril or on an errand more urgent," Elrond explained the presence of the funny little hobbits, before he introduced the company of elves both of his own company and of the wood kin. Seated a little apart was a tall man with a fair and noble face, dark-haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance.

He was cloaked and booted as if for a journey on horseback; and indeed though his garments were rich, and his cloak was lined with fur, they were stained with long travel. He had a collar of silver in which a single white stone was set; his locks were shorn about his shoulders. On a baldric he wore a great horn tipped with silver that now was laid upon his knees. He gazed at Frodo and Bilbo with sudden wonder.

"Here," said Elrond, turning to Gandalf, "is Boromir, a man from the South. He arrived in the grey morning, and seeks for counsel. I have bidden him to be present, for here his questions will be answered."
